What Are Eternity Bands?
Eternity bands symbolize just that: eternity. They're a statement of a love that will last forever. While some couples gift them on a special occassion after they're married such as an anniversary, renewal of vows or the birth of a child, many couples have begun using them as wedding bands themselves.
Eternity bands are normally surrounding in stones throughout the ring's circumference. However, you can find them in a number of styles and in different cuts with varying gemstones.
The Difference Between Eternity Bands & Wedding Bands
Traditionally, a wedding band is one made of precious metal and accompanies the engagement ring given upon the promise of marriage. However, traditions have changed and now rings have become more elaborate and varied. Eternity rings are rings which contain stones that cover the circumference of the band. While many use these rings as a gift for occasions that come after the wedding, they are also becoming more readily used by couples who wish to have a less tradition, and for that matter, more "sparkly" wedding band.
